Always was slightly interested in computer virus since the purchase of our first computer. Back then we knew that patching was being used to patch virus or malicious code at the start, end or anywhere in the middle of an executable file. Some of our floppy disks at the time had been infected with the Stoned computer virus.
After a bit of playing around, the virus was removed from our computer system, and never gave a second thought to these things, until early 2000's when a variant of Win32.beagle infected one of my primary development P.C.s at work. This virus was eventually removed using various antivirus products, but it was always showing up on P.C.s that were using peer to peer software for downloads and uploads.
Then around 2004-2005 was discussing with a work colleague about how computer viruses were now becoming more prevalent within the work force, as I had seen outbreaks but they were more personal computers infected then those in the work place. This was more to do with how people were working at work, taking work home on company laptops, or doing work on laptops. The problem was that laptops were being also used for personal stuff after hours, such as music, video, personal email, and software downloads, also not to mention visiting dubious websites and getting infected with drive by downloads.
